The Schneider-Kreuznach 35mm f2.8 Xenogon lens is a rare lens in the Leica M39 camera system. It is one of the few 35mm focal lengths made natively in the M39 lens mount that have a fast f2.8 maximum aperture. The fastest 35mm focal length lens made by Leitz during the same era was the f3.5 Summaron. Leica did produce an f2.8 Summaron at a much later date. The 35mm f2.8 Xenogon is known for being a sharp and high contrast lens that performs quite well. It is also a very compact lens that fits quite well on the typical M39 rangefinder body.
